Brave New World by Aldous Huxley

Brave New World

Between this one and that other dystopian novel everyone goes on about I’ve always preferred this one. The vision of a society managed, indoctrinated and pacified out of any outlet for individuality, for the sake of societal harmony seemed more likely – something the world could easily slip into. (Huxley’s last novel The Island is also good – it’s like the utopian parallel to BNW…so if the dystopian stuff has got you down…)
