Mr. Jukes – Angel / Your Love ft. The Chicago Kid
Jack Steadman has emerged from the hiatus of Bombay Bicycle Club with an ambitious, eclectic and redefining solo project. Moving away from the indie, bubblegum-pop sound we’re all familiar with, Jack has set out to explore his love for the genres: funk, soul and jazz. He’s not alone though as he’s pulled together a strong family of collaborates such as Charles Bradley, Lianna La Havas and De La Soul. The track below features The Chicago Kid with a composition that booms with excitement, you can almost feel Jack’s eagerness to embark on his new musical journey.
The War On Drugs – Holding On
They’re back with a lead single from their forthcoming record. Returning with a similar sound the band is still championing their modern take on the classic rock roots. Watch the music video all the way to the end if you’d like your tears jerked.
TOPS – Petals
Certainly feels like summer on a sunny evening. Irresistible groove, catchy lyrics; simple and instantaneous light banger here.
Guerilla Toss – Skull Pop
Okay, something a bit crazy now. Some psych-pop with an art-pop flare that’s bursting with energy. Not to mention a suitable trippy video to go with it, fans of post-punk Talking Heads may also find something interesting to the ears here.
Aldous Harding – Imagining My Man
Haunting, chilling; the way Aldous hits a couple of the notes in this song just sounds incredibly powerful. Sending shivers up the spine, giving a tremble to the heart on its way passed.
